Best Dog Walks in Anglesey
St. David's Park - December 3rd 2021
Newborough and Ynys Llanddwyn Circular
Newborough and Ynys Llanddwyn Circular is a well-known hiking route on the island. It comes in at a lengthy 17.7km, so allow plenty of time to complete the route in order to fully appreciate and embrace the scenery and wildlife. Or perhaps breaking the walk down into manageable chunks over a few days or weeks might be better for you based on time or fitness levels.
It is a looped trail located near Bodorgan, Anglesey, and is best used from April until September. If you’re looking for a family day out, you could also mix it up and combine the walk with a fun beach day.

Benllech Circular
On the doorstep of St. David’s Park (our holiday home owners could start from their front doors!) is the well-known Benllech Circular route.
This is one that should be familiar to owners on St. David’s who have probably walked sections of the circular but maybe not the whole 10km or so.
There are a few reasons we like this route… It’s accessible all year round, lots of wildflower’s bloom in the right season, there is brilliant views of Anglesey’s famous coastline. Oh and you can always plan the Tavern as your end point and enjoy a well-deserved drink or two once you’ve completed it.
Red Wharf Bay
Ok, this is a shorter and sweeter than the two above – and it’s absolutely great for dog owners on St. David’s Park for that reason. In fact, if you have a holiday home and a dog there, we’re 99% certain you will have already done it.
Fun fact about Red Wharf Bay: the Land Rover Defender concept was first conceived and tested on these sands.
Visit the industrial ruins in Porth Wen
We couldn’t really compile a list of walks on Anglesey without mentioning the ever instagrammable brick works ruins in Porth Wen. The nearest town is Amlwch and there are scenic, if not a little rugged, routes from Bull Bay.
